We love Thursdays at Keep Calm and Rock On and here’s a little known band called Tyr to pillage your ears and plunder your headphones.

Another week is upon us and this is the time we admire musicians fit to grace the very halls of Valhalla and this week it’s my favourite MOFO (Musicians of Finnish Origin) Turisas.

An obvious choice for this feature I think you’ll agree but I was wearing my Turisas t-shirt so I thought it was time.

They premiered their new album in full on a Finnish radio station earlier this week and it’s an absolute belter, one of my most anticipated albums this year. (more…)

The Devil Wears Prada

American metalcore act the Devil Wears Prada will be coming back to the UK in October.

The band have set a string of headlining dates for late autumn this year with a new album to come a couple of weeks before hand.

The as yet unnamed album follows up to 2011’s “Dead Throne” is due to drop on September 16th with the five piece’s headline tour to kick off in Portsmouth just two weeks later. (more…)

Aussie hard rock act Airbourne are set to embark on a UK wide headline trek at the end of November.

Following huge success with their sets at Download Festival and the Metal Hammer Golden Gods, the band are looking to build their UK presence with an 11 date tour with support from The Treatment and Orange Goblin. (more…)

Bury Tomorrow

As well as headlining Teesside’s Make a Scene Festival in July, Bury Tomorrow will be embarking on a full treck around the UK in the coming months.

The tour will round off the cycle for last year’s monumental album “The Union of Crowns” and the news comes mere days after the smashed it at Download Festival.

The five piece from Southampton just missed out on a gong at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods this year, losing out on the Best New Band award to Bleed From Within, just weeks after coming second in our very own Rock Countdown of 2013. (more…)

Mathias ‘Warlord’ Nygard in full flow at their last show in Newcastle

Finnish battle metal pioneers Turisas have announced a five day headline tour of the UK in support of their upcoming album Turisas2013.

The new disk will drop in August for Finland and Europe with the UK and North America having to wait until 2nd and 3rd September.

The tour will take the band around the UK in early October and will be the first to be recorded since the departure of bombshell accordionist Netta Skog. (more…)
