Last week’s Vintage Sunday was a lot more recent than our usual batch so we’re taking a giant leap backwards, all the way to 1980 for Ozzy‘s debut solo album.

Attempting to show Sabbath just what they were missing after his departure from the band the album marks Osbourne’s second attempt at a solo career and it was exceptionally successful.

Iconic tracks like Crazy Train and Mr Crowley gave this album a launchpad to greatness. (more…)

As a lover of black metal I find these guys lean more towards the Merciful Fate side of the genre as opposed to the screaming carnage of Mayhem. (more…)

As another weekend draws itself wearily to a close we would like to draw your attention to another undisputed classic, this time in the form of Iron Maiden‘s epic 1982 album “The Number of the Beast“.

The last Maiden album to feature the late Clive Burr, “The Number of the Beast” is to the Irons what “Paranoid” is to Black Sabbath, that iconic disc which springs to mind as soon as the band’s name is mentioned.

The track list is packed with classics, and the band’s live shows have been littered with them for years, with this year’s Download performance hosting “Run to the Hills”, “Number of the Beast” and “The Prisoner” to rapturous applause. (more…)

Here at Metalize This we have developed a deep love for the music of Northern Irish Juggernaut Trucker Diablo and last Friday we were lucky enough to grab a quick chat with the guys before they played their first headline date over here in England.

This reporter, however, was ever so slightly disappointed not to see the Trucker’s signature vehicle (from these photos) rolling through the streets of Newcastle. (more…)
