Last week’s Vintage Sunday was a lot more recent than our usual batch so we’re taking a giant leap backwards, all the way to 1980 for Ozzy‘s debut solo album.

Attempting to show Sabbath just what they were missing after his departure from the band the album marks Osbourne’s second attempt at a solo career and it was exceptionally successful.

Iconic tracks like Crazy Train and Mr Crowley gave this album a launchpad to greatness.

The album went gold in the states within a year and has since reached platinum four times across the pond.

Despite this success in the states the album didn’t go down so well over here, only gaining a silver certification.

Despite this the singles Crazy Train and Mr Crowley are staples of rock radio playlists across the world and two of my favourite Ozzy tracks of all time.

This album is incredible and was a great starting point of Osbourne’s solo career.

If you don’t already own a copy then grab one ASAP
